August 1-7 - Idaho Farmers Market Week - Statewide
Celebrate local markets and growers that support them during the first week in August in honor of Idaho Farmers Market Week. Look for special events taking place at local farmers markets including chef demonstrations, product sampling, and fun activities for the kids. August 29 & Sep. 26 Locavore Express, Horseshoe Bend, Idaho
To kick off Idaho Preferred® Month, Idaho State Department of Agriculture and Sysco Idaho will team up with Thunder Mountain Line to again host the popular “Locavore Express!” On August 29th, and an encore event on September 26th, the noon train will become the “Locavore Express.” The train will depart from Horseshoe Bend and upon arrival in Banks, local chefs will create a mouthwatering menu featuring local meats, fresh produce, famous potatoes, and dessert from the orchards of southern Idaho. End the day back at Horseshoe Bend and enjoy shopping a special Farmers Market for fresh produce and other local products. For more information, contact Leah Clark.
Sep. 18 Idaho Falls Harvest Festival, Idaho Falls, ID
Idaho Preferred® will attend the 3rd-annual Idaho Falls Harvest Festival, offering booth space for any Idaho Preferred® company interested in showcasing their products in this widely-attended consumer show. The Harvest Fest is a great celebration of all things local, featuring local arts and crafts booths, Idaho agriculture products, kids’ games, a “local hero” chili-cook off and more. October TBD Taste of Harvest, Caldwell, ID
Idaho Preferred® will have a booth at this annual fall event to promote local food and agricultural products. The Taste of Harvest is held on the campus of The College of Idaho to celebrate the harvest with local foods, wines and entertainment. For more information, contact Leah Clark.

In its second year, the Idaho Grape Growers and Wine Producers Commission will be hosting Savor Idaho, Idaho’s Premier Wine and Food Event. The event will be held on June 13, 2010 at the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise, ID, featuring a vast array of Idaho wineries and restaurants.
