Food for Thought: Business is Blooming

In 2026, the Boise Farmers Market (BFM) presents a new discussion series “Food for Thought.” Presenters and panelists will be individuals and businesses engaged in the local food system and creating a sense of place and community centered on local food and all the issues surrounding it.
The event is free and will feature local hors d’oeuvres from Chef Adan Callsen (Under the Table Boise) as well as local drinks. Panelists for this inaugural event are:
Jackie Sommer, Purple Sage Farms, will speak to the benefits of edible flowers and the value of using the whole plant.
Davis McDonald, Owner of Sun-Dog Farm, will talk about his journey from commercial flowers to traditional farm to full-time flower farm.
Erin Anderson, Executive Director Idaho Botanical Garden (IBG), will speak to our growing community partnership and exciting happenings at IBG.
RSVP is required for this FREE event at The Bishop’s House, 2420 Old Penitentiary Road, Boise, Idaho.
