Freshness From Your Garden or Delivered to Your Door

Are you making an effort to go to the grocery store less? How about raising a garden this year to avoid numerous trips to the produce aisle.
Find starter plants from nurseries like Ward’s Greenhouse, Moss Greenhouses, Sunnyside Gardens, Town & Country Gardens, Adams Gardens, Alpha Nursery & Garden Center, and Olson’s Greenhouse Gardens that either sell direct or distribute to local retailers like Zamzows, Albertsons, D&B Supply, Home Depot and Walmart.

If you don’t have room for a garden, a raised garden bed is a great alternative. Buy one or make your own and fill it with potting soil and compost from Magic Valley Soil.
With so many wonderful fruits, vegetables and herbs to choose from you can plant your garden so something new is popping up throughout Idaho’s long harvest season. Look for the Idaho Preferred logo on bedding plants and herb starts to make sure you are planting Idaho-grown goodness in your garden!

Get the kids involved. A garden is the perfect opportunity to teach children where their food comes from.

If you don’t have time and space for a garden- sign up for a CSA- CSA stands for community supported agriculture. A CSA connects the farmer directly to the consumer. At the beginning of the season the consumer pays a one time fee for the share of the harvest. A CSA is a great way to get a variety of vegetables each week during the harvest season. There are options for CSA’s all throughout the state from Driggs to Moscow! Find a complete list here.

Idaho Preferred has a couple CSA members.
