Local Gift and Nursery Ideas for Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is just around the corner! It is time to show mom your appreciation with the perfect Mother’s Day gift. Stumped for gift ideas? Well, we have some great suggestions for local items including local hanging baskets, nursery products and other great Idaho flowers and trees.
What mom doesn’t like flowers? Look for the Idaho Preferred logo to find hanging baskets, flower bowls, Idaho trees and plants grown in local greenhouses. Growers like Ward’s Greenhouse, Olson’s Greenhouse and Warm Springs Greenhouse supply to local nurseries and garden centers in southwest Idaho including Zamzows, D & B, Wal-Mart, Paul’s Market and Albertsons. In the Sun Valley area look for locally grown plants at Hollyberry Nursery and in eastern Idaho you can find local plants at Sunnyside Gardens, Moss Greenhouse or Town and Country Gardens.
Maybe this year, Mom would like a flowering tree instead of traditional flowers? If so, find trees grown by Clayton Tree Farms in Wilder, Franz Witte Nursery, or in northern Idaho, look for trees grown by Bonners Ferry Nursery or Reggear Tree Farm.
Plants also make great gifts. Does your mom have a garden? If so, buy her tomato plants, herbs, and other locally grown vegetable plants.
And don’t forget the extra nursery supplies such as great potting soil. Look for Magic Dirt at your local nursery or at Wal-Mart and D&B. Brandtastic soil is also a great Idaho product and available in several garden centers.
All of these local nursery products make great Mother’s Day gifts. For more ideas and a list of local nurseries click here.
