Responsible Fisheries Managment (RFM)

Responsible Fisheries Management (RFM) is an internationally accredited certification program that assesses whether a fishery is responsibly managed according to strict criteria. It includes two seafood certification standards:

  1. Fisheries Standard
  2. Chain of Custody Standard

RFM is a thorough program built on the most robust and widely recognized international standards and practices. Based on the criteria set by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), it is one of the few programs with an accredited certification process under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 17065) code.
