Sowing Joy Farm
Cut Flowers for Wholesale, Retail, Events, and Weddings
Sowing Joy Farm is a small farm in northern Idaho, where Chad and Ondrea, along with their six children and one granddaughter live. It’s Ondrea’s passion to make the best possible use of their land by growing flowers.
Ondrea has grown in her love for gardening since childhood. While her friends were excited to hang out at the beach or mall, she begged for garden space. She has gardened continually in whatever space she could, from apartment balconies to backyards, and larger plots.
Sowing Joy Farms is passionate about using organic farming practices, amending the soil by using worm casings, organic compost, and seaweed for healthy soil. They control pests with friendly flocks of ducks and chickens, and by introducing natural predators such as ladybugs and praying mantises. They keep bees on the property as well.
A few of the many flower varieties they grow include dahlias, sunflowers, stock, roses, larkspur, zinnias, phlox, sweet peas, peonies, lilacs, amaranth, celosia, basil, mint, sage, delphinium, cress, gladiola, godetia, and many more.
They are also passionate about giving back to our community. For every 20 bouquets they sell, they donate and deliver an arrangement to a local assisted living, hospital, or community organization. They believe everyone deserves to experience the joy of flowers.
