Wood River Farmers Market

The Wood River Farmers Market Association began in 2000, when a small group of farmers organized the first Ketchum market in partnership with Atkinsons’ to bring more structure to local sales. Starting with 13 vendors, the markets in both Ketchum and Hailey grew steadily, formalizing into an official association in 2005 and adapting to new locations as the community evolved. Through expansions, downtown construction, and the creation of Ketchum’s town square, the markets developed into vibrant hubs that drew increasing numbers of vendors and customers seeking fresh, local products. Despite several moves—especially for the Hailey market—each location added new character, from cozy park settings to bustling downtown walkways, and helped cultivate strong ties among producers, customers, and the broader community.

The 2020 pandemic tested the markets’ resilience, but quick adaptation allowed both to operate safely and successfully, underscoring the importance of stable local food systems. In the following years, further relocations positioned the markets for renewed growth, including Hailey’s family‑friendly park setting and Ketchum’s well‑received move to Forest Service Park in 2023. Today, both markets thrive with supportive crowds, long‑time vendors, and a strong “know your farmer” culture. As they celebrate 25 years, the Wood River Farmers Markets continue to be cherished community spaces rooted in local agriculture, connection, and craftsmanship.
