American Ostrich Farms

In 2012, while residing in South Africa, Idaho-native founder Alex McCoy had a life-changing encounter with ostrich meat – a discovery that resonated deeply with his carnivorous nature, athletic lifestyle, and commitment to a healthy way of living. Delving into the intricacies of this remarkable protein, he realized its scarcity back home presented a unique opportunity.

Less than a year later, Alex established American Ostrich Farms, a family-run ranch nestled in Kuna. Spanning 120 acres of native grasses and sagebrush, the farm provides our ostriches with vast open spaces and an arid climate reminiscent of their natural habitat.

Celebrating its tenth year, the farm remains committed to excellence, innovation, and ethical practices. At American Ostrich Farms, responsible red meat consumption takes precedence, with a focus on humane treatment and sustainability. The farm boasts its own on-site USDA facility, making it one of the nation’s rare fully integrated meat producers. This unique setup ensures that stringent standards are maintained from the moment of hatch, through the entire growth process, and beyond – all the way to the hands of valued customers.
