Gooding Farms

Gooding Farms boasts over 750 acres and 12 varieties of hops, including one proprietary variety they developed called Idaho GemTM Brand ‘2012G01’ variety. The farm is managed by Mike Gooding and three Gooding sisters: Diane, Michelle, and Andrea.

In addition to running their hops business, the Gooding family keeps busy with volunteer efforts to serve their community:

  • Michelle is President of the Idaho Hop Growers Association
  • Diane is on the Wilder Irrigations District board and a board member for the Hop Research Council
  • Andrea is a board member of the Wilder Housing Authority
  • Mike is the Chairman of the Wilder Rural Fire District

In 2017, they became the first hop farm in southwest Idaho to become Global GAP certified. Following the Covid-19 pandemic, Gooding Farms opened Red Top Market to begin providing food to the community The farm also shifted focus to regenerative agriculture: chickens, sheep, cattle, and multi-species cover crops are found in rotations throughout the farm.
