Mama Knows Best Microgreens and Things is a local, veteran-owned microgreens company utilizing vertical agriculture practices. The business is committed to developing fully sustainable, earth-friendly processes designed to leave no environmental footprint.

All microgreens are grown organically without the use of sprays or chemical treatments. Mama Knows Best Microgreens and Things takes pride in producing a high-quality product that is both nutritious and flavorful and can currently be found in grocery stores, restaurants, and farm stands and markets throughout the Treasure Valley.

This mother and daughter duo started growing microgreens for themselves while food sources were sparse during the beginning of the pandemic. They opened their farm in May of 2021 in a 400 sq. ft. garage and now find themselves in a 2,000 sq. ft. shop providing fresh microgreens to the Treasure Valley.

They are committed to delivering top-quality products, educating the community, as well as encouraging healthy lifestyle choices. Their microgreens are grown indoors, where they keep a clean and controlled environment year-round!

What are Microgreens?

Microgreens are the superfood superheroes. Microgreens are the young seedlings of vegetables and herbs. As seedlings, a University of Maryland study has shown that they pack up to 40X more vitamins, minerals, and essential nutrients than the adult plant. They are harvested with the seed’s original leaves intact, very soon after these first true leaves emerge.
