Rich's Chicks

Rich’s Chicks is a farmette in Canyon County that produces super fresh, super yummy eggs. The farm takes pride in raising day-old chicks into happy, healthy, laying hens that produce superior quality eggs. The focus is on all stages of rearing, from chick brooding and pullet development to ensuring the well-being of the hens, providing exceptional care for the birds entrusted to the farm.

Here’s how the farm operation works:

The chickens are free-roaming and grass-fed seasonally, with unlimited access to the outdoors. An extensive hen house and attached feeding shelter are available to the laying hens at any time, but they are never locked in. While roaming, the hens have access to a specially planted grass mix (Nature’s Seeds – Intermountain West Poultry Forage Mix), free from pesticides, herbicides, and unfriendly fertilizers. Supplemental chicken feed comes from The Mill in Meridian, dedicated to providing as close to non-GMO and organic as possible, and from Big D Ranch, which uses local ingredients from vetted producers.

The farm is poison-free when it comes to pests. Pest control falls under the jurisdiction of the barn cat(s), and fly predators are employed during fly season.

The main goal is egg production with superior taste and quality.

Whole, raw freeze-dried egg powder for bakers, campers, backpackers, and anyone that wants fresh eggs without the hassle of refrigeration.

Other pet treats include dehydrated chicken feet chews, freeze-dried chicken hearts, and freeze-dried shrimp.
