Ingredients

  • 2 firm Idaho pears (Bosc or Comice), peeled, cored, and diced

  • ½ small red onion, finely diced

  • 1 small bell pepper (red or yellow), diced

  • ½ jalapeño, seeded and finely diced (optional, for heat)

  • ½ cup pomegranate seeds

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)

  • Salt, to taste

Steps

  • Prepare the ingredients:

Dice pears, onion, bell pepper, and jalapeño (if using).

Remove seeds from pomegranate and measure out ½ cup.

  • Mix the salsa:

In a medium bowl, gently combine pears, onion, bell pepper, jalapeño, and pomegranate seeds.

Add lime juice, cilantro, and honey (if using).

    Season with salt to taste.

  • Serve:

Let sit for 10–15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Serve fresh with tacos, grilled chicken, fish, or as a colorful chip dip.

  • Kitchen Tips & Variations

For extra brightness, add a splash of orange juice instead of lime.

Swap jalapeño for a pinch of smoked chili flakes if you prefer smoky heat.

The salsa is best fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
