The Lively

Eat. Drink. Be Lively.

The Lively celebrates local Idaho farm and ranch families as a true farm-to-table dining establishment located in downtown Boise. The restaurant’s menu is created by Executive Chef Edward Higgins, who intentionally curates locally-sourced ingredients from producers such as Purple Sage Farms, Ballard Dairy, Idaho Springs Foods, and Snake River American Wagyu, to name just a few local farmers, and all of whom are fondly referred to as collaborative partners at The Lively.

Before moving to Boise, ID, Executive Chef + Tendai Buddhist Priest, Edward Higgins, worked in foodie meccas around the world, including Boston, San Francisco, Tokyo, Portland, and Hawaii. He trained in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan and he earned a Michelin Star while working at New York’s Insieme Restaurant.  His philosophy is simple: “familiar, yet sophisticated food that belies a thoughtful consideration for craft.”

Higgins chose to move to Boise, ID because of it’s abundant agricultural resources and the foodie community, which appreciates the access to the fresh bounty available so close by.

Patrons have many options when it comes to enjoying a culinary experience at The Lively, from elevated dining to one-off special holiday events, or even a proper afternoon tea. And of course, cocktails in the speakeasy (call ahead!
