North Idaho Farming: Cloud Eleven Mountain Farm

Cloud Eleven Mountain Farm: An Idaho Farmer Origin Story

Farming in North Idaho isn’t always easy with its unpredictable weather, a short growing season, and rugged terrain, but Edward and Julie Newcomb, owners of Cloud Eleven Mountain Farm, believe this is exactly where they belong. Nestled in the Purcell Mountains, they have spent over ten years transforming once-forested land into a thriving organic farm. Through regenerative soil practices, unheated high tunnels and other season extenders they grow more than 400 varieties of organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs, proving that growing delicious, nutritious food is possible even in Idaho’s toughest landscapes.

Organic Idaho Crops Grown with Care

Edward and Julie’s dedication to organic farming has earned them certifications from USDA Organic and the Real Organic Project, a label they are particularly proud of. Their focus on soil health ensures that every crop they grow meets the rigorous standards set by these food labeling bodies. By prioritizing regenerative practices, the Newcombs are set on restoring fertility to their land while producing high-quality, nutrient-dense food for their community.

CSA Producers in Idaho: Direct from Farm to Table

For over a decade, Cloud Eleven Mountain Farms has offered an annual 25-week CSA program, inviting North Idaho residents to purchase fresh, locally grown food directly from the farm. CSA members receive more than just a weekly box of organic produce; they become part of a food system that values sustainability, transparency, and a deep connection to the land. The Newcombs pour care and intention into every harvest, ensuring that their subscribers enjoy the best of each season.
