The Shed at Garrett Ranches | Idaho Farmer Origin Story
Discover the Sweet Taste of Idaho at Garrett Ranches
Juicy cherries, plump pluots, sweet apricots, donut peaches, crisp corn, and sun-ripened watermelon…The Shed at Garrett Ranches is positively bursting with local Idaho flavor. Step inside and you’ll find more than just farm-fresh fruit. Shelves are stocked with Garrett-grown produce, alongside treasures from nearby Idaho producers: golden jars of honey, artisan cheeses, berries, jams, sauces, homemade pies, and handmade goods. It’s a place that feels both timeless and alive, buzzing with the flavor and heart of local agriculture.
The Garrett family has cultivated this land for more than 80 years, and today, Gary Garrett leads the orchards, his son Corby keeps daily operations running smoothly, and daughter Angie Garrett-Swallow has breathed new life into The Shed as a destination for locally grown goodness. Angie’s touch is everywhere—from cozy nooks perfect for enjoying a peach to fun events that gather chefs, food crafters, and neighbors in celebration of Idaho’s agricultural richness.

If you can’t make it out to The Shed itself, you can still catch the Garretts at the Nampa Farmers Market on Saturdays or the Caldwell Farmers Market on Tuesdays. They’re also a favorite stop on Destination Caldwell’s AgVenture Tour Map, where visitors discover the beauty and flavor of Idaho farms firsthand.

As patriarch Gary Garrett reflects on the farm’s journey, his words capture the simple beauty of what they’ve built: “I can’t believe you can have such happy customers.”
